We were pretty excited when we heard that our Dad had signed up for a computer course at the local college to learn the basics of operating a computer. We thought – finally he’ll learn how to use the computer and actually do something with it besides let it sit up and collect dust.
Despite taking the class for several months and purchasing text books, when it came time for him to do something as simple as check his email, it quickly became apparent that he had learned very little from the class.
When my sister and I three-wayed him on the telephone it was like pulling teeth!
He didn’t know where the URL address box was, he looked on the computers monitor for the ESC button, and he learned the hard way that the big red X at the top right corner would close the entire browser… but what is a browser he asks?
The both of us could tell this was going to go no where really fast.
How in the hell were we supposed to show him what to click and where to go over the phone?
- We could use our computers and take the exact same routes he took in order to show him what and where to push, or
- We could use a tool that would allow the both of us to see what he was doing on his pc in real time.
The only option that made sense was to show him how to install and use Mikogo.
Mikogo is a free online meeting tool we came across a few months back that allow users to share their desktop in true color quality with up to 10 participants simultaneously.
This free downloadable software allows you to start a meeting with others from your computer.
You the presenter, have the ability to show others who’ve joined the meeting your screen in real time as well as the option to pass the presenter mode to someone else so you can watch what’s happening on their screen.
Even better you can take control of someone else’s computer and do for them what you are trying to tell/show them to do.
This tool has many uses such as if you need to conduct online meetings, presentations, webinars, show a product demo, show how to make money online, or give support among many others.
What’s new and really cool, is now you can conference Skype with Mikogo.
Have you ever attended a webinar in which you could view the presenters screen and ask questions via phone or Skype?
Now Skype has an extension that gives Skype users the ability to talk during online meetings and presentations while using Mikogo!
What else can you use Mikogo to do?
- You can use Mikogo to show others how to make money online
by showing others how to do what you already do best!
If you have any expertise in the online world and know others who would love to pay you to show them how to get that same knowledge then you can trade your time for dollars.
- You could also use this tool for bartering.
Let’s say you have a knack for setting up blogger or wordpress blogs and you would like to have a traffic assistant but can’t afford one right now.
Create a deal with a traffic assistant stating you will walk them through setting up their own blog using Mikogo and in return they drive traffic to your site at no cost to you– except of course a little of your time!
My sister Tiffany is good at setting up and customizing blogs so we use Mikogo all the time for teaching and presenting things to one another.
Your options are endless with this online screen sharing tool.
This tool is definitely useful for business, showing others how to make money online, or family and best of all it is free. Instantly show your screen to anyone online by taking 2 minutes to sign up for your free Mikogo account today.
