I heard a story the other day of a woman in another country (not US) who got a $15 micro loan to start a dairy farm and profited from day one. She paid that back and then got her a $25 micro loan to start another business that would require less work on her. Because of services like Kiva.org she has gotten her family out of poverty. Services like that are really awesome alternatives for people to get out of poverty and anyone can lend as little as $25 to a specific low-income entrepreneur in the developing world.
